Lieutenant Rodney Thomas, Dist-II
Lieutenant Thomas began his law enforcement career in 1989 as a “reserve” police officer with
the City of Palm Beach Gardens (FL). In 1990, he was hired as a full-time police officer by the
Town of Mangonia Park, where he was eventually promoted to Sergeant, then as Chief of Police in 2003.

In February of 2007, the Town of Mangonia Park contracted with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s
Office for law enforcement services. At the unanimous request of the Town Council, Rodney Thomas was given
the rank of Lieutenant with the PBSO and assigned to our town as the District-II Commander.

Rodney is a graduate of the former North Shore Community High School (1985) in West Palm Beach,

Lt. Thomas is married to Dianez, and is the proud father of six children, Rodney (Jr), Martina,
Isaiah, Genesis, Joshua and Gabriella.

“It is my opinion, and personal creed, that everyone is special”, claims Lt. Thomas. “All citizens, including those
we suspect of committing a crime, should be treated with the respect they deserve and expect from their law
enforcement community”.
